As wee lasses & lads, Who of us can forget the first of the school year when we would get a lovely new box of crayons. Ahhh, such artistic dreams and master pieces would flash in our little mind with each stroke as we colored out of lines and drew stick figures (that we were sure would be posted on the walls of an art gallery. lol)
Even as a grown middle-age gal, when I sit and color with my grandson, I’m pretty much still like that dreamy wee lass in grammar school. Nostalgia with a smile shared across generations. Sweet!
Except for the basic colorings and sketching with crayons, I honestly had never thought of someone actually being able to create wall-hanging, art-gallery worthy pieces…
and then…
I saw Don Marco’s website and was totally shocked & awed.
The art work of Don Marco is created with crayons. It’s truly one of the most amazing styles of art that I’ve ever seen. If you get a few extra minutes and want to see some stunningly breath taking art, I highly recommend his website.

Thank you for visiting…great to see new faces.
Love the fishtank on your blog.
Makes me wish I wasn’t so technically challenged!
Hi Granny,
Welcome. I enjoy seeing new folks visiting too. I’m technically-challenged too. lol I wish I could make beautiful virtual worlds like it. I got it from dreamaquarium.com a couple years ago, they did a great job creating it.
Thanks so much for visiting.

I don’t think my box of crayons have ever done anything close to Don Marco’s awesome-ness. Wow. Is your grandson’s art in a place of honor in your house? You know, the refridgerator.
Tina
lol My colors won’t do masterpieces either.

My grandson’s coloring pictures used to decorate my refrigerator door all the time, but now that he’s older, he mostly carries all his arts and crafts home with him.

I relate to the sentiments you express. I remember coloring in coloring books with my sister, working hard to stay in the lines. I recall she and I had a Lennon Sisters (Remember them: the Lawrence Welk show?) coloring book. I also love the smell of crayons. I have some out in my living room all the time. I am a therapist and always encourage art with my client when it’s appropriate. It always makes me happy when I can get someone to draw. Mr. Marco’s art is extraordinary. Makes you realize that it is NOT the material that makes the art. It is the artist!
I remember the Lennon sisters and Lawrence Welk, Champagne bubbles. lol I have always loved to color. it was so fun with my child and now my grandchild it’s so special to my heart.
I agree I think coloring is good therapy for folks. A simple picture can give much insight into the heart of someone.
I totally agree with you –> “Makes you realize that it is NOT the material that makes the art”
