I’m happy to report that I no longer have a stinking washing machine.
Unfortunately, I’m unhappy to report that I don’t have a washing machine at all at the moment…

It’s been quite a weekend and it started with returning the stinking washer.
We decided to get a different brand of washer and just pay the bit of difference. That would have worked too, if the appliance center hadn’t been out of washers. It was amazing. I’ve never seen so many folks wanting to buy new washers and dryers.  The heck of it is that the store wasn’t even running a sale. Interesting how folks all need washers at the same time.

I asked an elderly clerk for a rain-check on the GE model that we wanted and he quickly and almost a bit too happily said yes. I figure it was because we all got to walk away from the crowd of shoppers and off to the side and safety of computer area where he could take a bit of a break while typing in our info and whatnot. I suspect, he lingered over the keys a tad longer than he should have, but it was fine with us, we were in no hurry. He explained that part of the problem was the store was fixing to do inventory and they were out of a lot of stock for the next few days. He tried to explain about a couple of the GE washers being ready for shipping to their store, but somehow we lost the rest of the conversation as to what day this week they may arrive.

I have my rain-check so I know I have a washer when it comes in to their store. I’m going to call today and see if I can get a more definite date of when it’ll be there.

We had to pay a bit more for the GE model and was happy to do so for the quality. During the process of trying to pay the difference with my charge card, I experienced one of those uncomfortable moments where my card was refused.  It was such a small amount, and I know that it should have went through without a hitch.   We paid the difference for the the washer out of pocket.

It was quite confusing.  We knew how much we had on the card because we keep a close watch on it.   Grant it, it’s a small card amount to begin with, but we only use it for emergencies.  There should have been plenty of credit left.  It made no sense why it was rejected.

When we got home I went online and  discovered that not only has someone been messing around in some of my online stuff, that person had charged a couple of pc-programs to me.  I’ve dealt with that pc company for so many years that I had no problem in taking care of the situation.  Fortunately, I caught it in time and the charges are off my card. I hope that particular situation won’t happen again. I’ll be keeping a closer eye on my accounts from now on.

As further security, I have been changing passwords to everything. Now when I want to do anything on line I have to keep my password book at hand… It’s really a bummer having to look up my new passwords just to do simple things like check my email. I’ll be so glad when I memorize them. This is such a necessary aggravation.

You know, in a way, there’s a bit of irony to my washer and card woes…
If it hadn’t been for us having to return the stinking washing machine, we wouldn’t have discovered that someone had charged stuff to our credit card  and been messing around in my online stuff.
The person had made the charges within the past few days, so  by being able to take care of this now, it’ll only be 5 to 10 days to straighten it out in stead of 30 to 90 days (and perhaps even stopped us from seeking litigation against the person.)

I think it’s so interesting how strangely this happened and turned out for the best…  I thank the good Lord Above for our Stinking Washing Machine Woes.  It saved us a lot of possible problems and made us aware that we have been targeted by that someone.
:)

Before anyone ask, we believe it’s best to handle things privately and try to nip them in the bud before pursuing  other avenues.

Sooo, My Friends & Readers,

This is why I haven’t been around the past while.  Most all my online time, that I’ve had, has been spent updating passwords, emails and such.

I plan to be around to visit your blogs soon.

I hope you all have a lovely and safe week.
:)
