I think I mentioned once or twice that I tinker a bit with writing, not professionally, but mostly for my own entertainment. I’m working on my garden-type ebook at the moment. I’ll post about it when it’s finished and published for download.
Meanwhile, I thought I’d let you all get a taste of my writing by offering my 2 ebooks on Amazon for free for today only.
Both are fiction & are written under my pen-name of Dazey Shell:
‘A Mother’s Lament’
‘A Wee Giant Tale’
If you want to grab a free copy of both my books, now is the time.
.
“Lament is a special place between heaven and hell for parents who volunteer to take on the sins and punishments of their children“
‘A Mother’s Lament’ is a short tale of a Mother who is willing to sacrifice all to give her daughter the one thing she couldn’t in life.
.
.
.
‘A Wee Giant Tale’ is my epic poem about a young lady named Shyla. She lives in the ancient city of Aramay that’s invisible to human eyes and ruled by a counsel of Elders. Each of the citizens are predestined for a specific event and they must remain in the city until their destiny calls.
Aramay’s nearest neighbors live in a coastal village. The village is savagely attacked by a Giant. Shyla feels the citizens of Aramay should come out from behind their protected walls and help stop the Giant. The Elders of her city refuse to help and even refuse to let her go help the victims. All seems lost until the answer comes to Shyla in dream. she defies the Elders and goes out alone to try to stop the Giant’s murderous rampage.
Does it work? Can Shyla stop the massive Giant? Will there be a lasting lineage of good born out of her efforts?
“I wrote this poem in a manner that is hopefully reminiscent of a simple styled ‘voice play’ like an old radio drama with Narrator and the other character‘s named above the stanza’s where they speak.” – Dazey

I keep resisting the kindle movement. This makes me wish that I had one! Way to go!
Thanks Renee,
I, too, fought the Kindle movement until I saw my sister was having fun reading so many great books. So I put an app on my pc and started getting ebooks too. Then my husband got me a Kindle Fire for Mother’s Day and my book collecting has gone off the charts. lol
Since I’m an amateur, I really like being able to publish my writing. It’s like building websites or blogging, it’s enjoyable and gives me a sense of accomplishment.
I’m with Renee – I’ve just begun reading again recently (thanks to winning a giveaway on another blog!). But these look very interesting!
Thanks Dianna
I understand. I was real hesitant about ebooks, but now I really enjoy them. and it’s a big plus that I can publish my stuff too.
Congrats on publishing – that’s excellent. ‘A Mother’s Lament’ sounds interesting to me. You are the mother, right? Very intriguing…
Hi WordsFallFromMyEyes
Welcome to my blog.
Thanks so much for the Congrats. I published my ebooks myself through Amazon’s Kindle Publishing thingy. It’s an enjoyable and scary venture to put my writing out there for folks to read. I am a Mom, but I’m not the Mother in my book. ‘A Mother’s Lament’ was inspired by watching more than a few Mom’s who’ve struggled with their grown children’s bad choices. It’s so sad that they want to help or comfort their child in someway and yet not be able too.
Thanks so much for visiting and leaving me a comment.
I hope you’ll visit again soon.
Cool E.C.! I have a Nook!?
Thanks Pix
I hear Nooks are a nifty device.
Wow! I had no idea you are an author, a real published author! I’m really impressed! I don’t have a Kindle but my daughter does. She has a historical novel she has been trying to get published for a while; I’ll pass this on to her.
Thanks Charlotte
I am a self-published writer. I wish I was a normal published one. My kindle books are too small for a regular book and I doubt a book publisher would have accepted them for print. I’m grateful for this time in our technology that I can make a few of my books available for folks to read.
I wish your daughter much success.
I downloaded and read “A Mother’s Lament”, and have to tell you how much I enjoyed it, Joss. The way you wrote it got right under my skin and struck a chord with me; perhaps because I’m a mother with a troubled son, so it hit home.
Well done on getting it out there, and thank you for the gift!
Here’s a (((hug))) for you Barb, Bless your heart. Thank you for sharing this with me. I’m sad to hear of your troubled son. I know it must be difficult time for you and your family. I wish there was a way in real life to shield and cure children from being troubled. Like all of us, they have to find their own way, but unfortunately sometimes they get lost and it’s tough to find the way back. I’m truly touched by your words and honored that you enjoyed my book. Thank you so much for reading my book and giving me such positive feedback. My prayers and positive thoughts are with you and your son. (((hugs)))
Drat! Wish I had a Kindle, but I have a Nook. Would love to have read your books. It doesn’t make any difference how your work was published. It is out there, and that is quite an accomplishment! Kudos to you!
Thank you so much CE for your supportive and positive thoughts.
What a pity I don´t have a kindle. Best of luck with your writing and future publishing. My mom is also a self-published author as at her age no publisher wanted to “bet” on her. It´s a pity that chances aren´t given to all…
Hey Sami
I almost missed your comment it got caught in my ‘pending’ folder. WP has such interesting hiccups this summer.
Congratulations on your Mom publishing her book. That’s an awesome achievement. I think self-book publishing is a big step in the right direction.
I agree, I think it’s a shame that book editors aren’t more flexible.
Thanks for the good wishes.
I’m planning to get a Kindle sooner or later- I have you on my Wish List, E.C.! Congrats on writing your books!
Thanks so much WS
If you ever get a Kindle, give me a holler and I’ll try to run my books free again (if Amazon will let me)
