I hope you all had a pleasant 4th of July. The heat and drought is a real monster for a lot of us and fireworks were banned from our areas. Here’s a photo of my yard. We’ve been up to 109° and haven’t been below 90° for a couple weeks now. We’re in a drought with no end in sight. Look at my lawn, if it wasn’t for the field-line all the grass would be dead. ![]()

On a more positive note, my blanket flower is in full bloom and seems to flourish in the heat.

Okay, here’s the deal…
I was going to do a re-blog on my ’7-5-2012 Garden Update’ from my gardening blog, like I normally do the updates, but on my last re-blog update, it was pointed out to me that some folks don’t like re-blogs and being sent to a different blog… sooo, I decided to make a post here with a link to my gardening blog.
7-5-2012 Gardening Update
You’re welcome to visit my Garden blog to read my update and see photos of my garden’s progress and failures.
Please know that if click the link, you’ll leave this blog and go to my second blog.
So, how about it, do you all mind re-blogs and being sent to a different blog or do you prefer a link and a choice to visit the second blog?
Your answers will help to decided if I should re-blog my garden blog posts anymore. I look forward to your thoughts.
Wishing you all a pleasant rest of the week!
Your yard looks all too familiar. About the reblogs/links, either works for me. I know that isn’t much help. I am going to be clicking on that link in a few seconds though…
We supposedly have a front making its way to us Sunday maybe it will hold together and help you.
Thanks Pix
I hope you all get a good soaking rain. We got a short rain yesterday that lasted maybe a half hour and we’re thankful to get it, but wish for more. It’s been such a long hot summer and it ain’t over yet, so there’s still hope for pleasant weather… ahhh dare to dream…
I really appreciate your positive feedback and support of my blogs. I’m glad I asked about reblogging. I’m thankful you and our other blogging buddies don’t mind it. Thanks so much.
I don’t know who pointed this out to you, but I see no harm in it and I certainly don’t mind it. If the title is the same (which I will see in my email notification) I won’t comment on both blgs just one. When I return from France I will be starti9ng a plg called Piglet’s Plot whihc will focus on aspects of gardening in Portugal. I will still be posting my updates to PiP. and sometimes I will reblog. To be honest I would not worry too much
I enjoy reading all your blogs
Thanks Pip
Oh cool, I look forward to Piglet’s Plot. I know it’ll be a fun filled learning experience. You’ve done such an awesome job with your gardening, I’m so glad you’re sharing what you’ve learned. I still think you ought to write a book to sell for folks moving to Portugal who may want to garden. Your experience and lessons would be a welcomed resource, I bet. I hope your trip is pleasant and filled with smiles. I miss you already.
The person who mentioned about reblogging was someone who was surfing my blog for the first time and thought I would appreciate a helpful suggestion. The person hasn’t been by but just the once, but it got me wondering. So I thought I’d check and see how you all feel about my reblogs. I really appreciate your positive feedback and support of my blogs. Thanks so much.
Your Blanket Flowers are beautiful! Living in southern Nevada, I’d love to have something so colorful on my balcony that thrives in the heat. As for re-blogging, I have no problem at all being taken to another one of your links. I agree with Piglet in Portugal as I too enjoy reading all of your blogs
Thanks Mimi
The blanket flower blooms are so cheerful and bright they’re like smiles greeting us everyday and when it’s so darned hot, it’s a blessing to see them thrive. I hope you grow some of them.
Thanks so much for the positive feedback and support on reading my blogs. I really appreciate it.
Beautiful blanket flowers!
It seems people are getting a bit touchy here on WP about what people do, etc….I would say, in the spirit of independence and free speech, that we do what we like (as long as we’re not hurting anyone). If someone doesn’t like it, they can just click delete and move on. Our blogs are about expressing ourselves, and we can’t do that if we are trying to please everyone. Whew….that was a rant! Sorry!
Thanks Angeline
I never knew blanket flowers were so pretty before I saw this one.
lol I like your point of view and agree with it. Even so, just to be sure that I’m on the right track, I thought I’d check in with you all to see how you all felt about reblogging. Thanks for your positive feedback and support. I’ll probably go back to reblogging my garden updates.
Either way works for me. I love the last photo of your flowers.
Thanks Judy
I’m always amazed when I have a photo turn out so well as that last one did, I’m glad you like it too.
Thanks for the feedback and support for my re-blogs.
Looks like you need to blanket your yard with those pretty flowers!
Blog, re-blog, doesn’t matter to me, do what works for you.
Thanks Patti
I like the idea of blanketing the yard with blanket flowers, that would be beyond beautiful.
Now that I know you and my other blogging buddies don’t mind if I re-blog, I’ll probably go back to it. Thanks so much.
