The other day my hubby told me that he really likes my crocheted dishcloths. He thinks the 8 inch is the perfect size too. The problem is the 8 inch is constantly in the wash now and not always ready to use. Since I had left over yarn and a full unused skein of cotton yarn I made a couple more 8 crocheted dishcloths.
The first one is made by the original granny square pattern and the 3 colored second one is a pattern that I made up myself. I wanted a heavier duty dishcloth that I could also scrub the dishes with when needed. It’s made up of alternating front-double-crochet and back- double-crochets every few chains. I think of it as a waffle texture.

Hi,
What a great idea, and they do sound like the ideal size, I love the colours you put into it as well, I think the patterns look great. Very nice.
Thanks Mags
These are really nice! Love the colors too. I would ask for the pattern, but I don’t know when I’d ever have time to make them!
Thanks Dianna
If you ever decide you want it, give me a holler.
Very nice, E.C. I like the patterns, so pretty.
Thanks Patti
Nice! How do you keep your edges even? I have a terrible time crocheting uniform dishcloths. I count stitches and try to keep an even tension. I think it might be the tension that trips me up. Any suggestions how to correct this?
Hi J.G. Burdette
Welcome to my blog.
I figure you’re right about the tension. I wish I had some advice on how you could correct it. I think it comes with practice. The more you crochet the more you learn to hold the tension more evenly.
Thanks for visiting and leaving me a comment.
I hope you’ll come by again soon.
Thanks anyway, and yes I’ll be returning in the future!
Nice colors. Looks like it would be heavy duty.
Thanks Judy
