I’m feeling a bit out-of-kilter this morning. My sidekick Shelibean isn’t with me and I’m worried about him. See, we carried him to the vet this morning to have him neutered and also have the last 3 needle-sharp canine baby teeth pulled. Did you know that in the little breeds of dogs that sometimes their baby teeth have a harder time falling out naturally and need to be pulled? We’ll be happy the canines are gone and so will Babycat. ![]()
Sheli is just shy of 8 months old. I’m happy to report that he weighs in at a whopping 9.5 pounds and according to the vet is a very healthy puppy.
I told the vet that this will be the first night since Sheli was 7 weeks old that he hasn’t been with us and he might cry and then I added I might cry too.
The vet is supposed to call when Sheli is out of surgery and awake.
When we got home without Sheli in tow, Babycat spent a good deal of time trekking after me. I had to pick her up for a snuggle several times. I began straightening up Sheli’s toy area and Babycat went over and curled up right beside them.
We think Babycat thinks of Sheli as her kitten and she is sad and lost without him.
She’s curled up in my lap sleeping right now. I know she must be wondering where Sheli is.
I miss my baby boy.
I pray Sheli comes through surgery like a champ and has a speedy recovery.
I’ll post an update as soon as I hear from the vet.

Hi E.C. I’m sure Shelibean will be just fine. Hugs to you, Babycat and Shelibean!
Thanks so much Mimi
(((hugs to you too)))
Aw…..anyone’s who’s ever loved and been loved by a little fur-baby knows exactly how you’re feeling, E.C. I’m sure little Sheli will be just fine! I’ll be waiting for that update!
Thanks so much Dianna (((hugs)))
Our fur-babies are wonderful parts of our hearts and Life. Trying to do the right thing health-wise is a scary thing sometimes.
Amazing how quickly we become attached to our little furry friends, isn’t it, E.C.? What kind of a dog is he? My daughter has a malttzu that’s just about that size. Looking forward to the update.
Thanks so much CE
It truly is amazing how quickly the furry little babes steal our hearts. Sheli is half chihuahua & half shih tzu or a Shichi.
Maltizus are cutie pies too.
I am going to say I am sure Sheli is fine too! I love that BabyCat loves Sheli and that they get along! Sweet picture of Sheli’s toys and BabyCat staying close. Update has to be coming soon!
Sheli will be fine, he is fit and healthy, but I know exactly how you are feeling, it’s only natural. Babycat misses him too, because he is part of the family; what a lovely pic of her sitting near Sheli’s toys, wondering why he’s not there too.
The farmer took a female in last week; she came out of it fit as a fiddle. She’s another “dumped” dog. There’s another to go soon; she had seven puppies after being dumped. And I don’t even like dogs! Can you imagine my frustration?
It sounds like it was a rough day for everyone.
