Monkeying Around continued…
I really like my new Fluted Tube Pan (Bundt pan). I have big plans for many cakes and jellos and such as that.
I’m real pleased with the monkey bread. We’re amazed at how much it taste like a regular cinnamon roll. All it needed was a powdered sugar drizzle and it would have been perfect. I was going to make some, but thought perhaps we didn’t really need it.
I sent the leftover monkey bread to work with my husband this morning. I figure that was a wise move to help me avoid temptation.
Here’s my adjusted version of the monkey bread recipe:
———–

Half Recipe for Monkey Bread
1/3 cup white sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
1/3 cup light brown sugar
1/4 cup melted margarine
2 cans of biscuits
Preheat oven to 350°
Grease a Tube Pan (Bundt pan) with baking spray
Mix white sugar and cinnamon together in a large bowl that has a tight fitting lid.
Cut biscuits into 4 pieces each.
Put biscuit pieces in the bowl of sugar/cinnamon mix.
Put the lid on the bowl.
Shake the bowl until all the biscuit pieces are coated thoroughly.
Place the sugar/cinnamon coated biscuits pieces in the Tube Pan (Bundt pan)
Mix brown sugar and melted margarine together and pour over the biscuit pieces.
Bake 35 to 45 minutes or longer until done.
Remove pan from oven and let it set for 5 minutes.
Carefully, remove bread from the Tube Pan (Bundt pan) by turning the pan over on a flat plate or pan.
You may have to shake the pan to loosen the bread.
Remove pan from fresh baked monkey bread.
Allow monkey bread to cool.
Serve warm or room temp, we think it’s good either way.

To add a bit more temptation you could add a powdered sugar drizzle on the top of the bread. Drizzle is fairly simple to make. All you’re doing is liquifying powdered sugar.
Here’s my basic recipe.
———–
Powdered Sugar Drizzle
Put 1/2 cup powdered sugar in a bowl and add a teaspoon of milk (or water or juice) and stir well
keep adding milk (or water or juice) a few drops at a time until the powdered sugar reaches the consistency you want.
Add more powdered sugar if you get it too thin.

Wishing you all a Sweet & Happy Valentines week!

PC Issues Update…
I’m amazed at how well the photo looks on my post yesterday. I’ve decided to keep it as is. You should see it on our desktop pc monitor, it looks awful. We really need a new monitor or a whole new desktop pc. lol
I’m happy to report that my new laptop battery is fully charged. I’m not sure how long it’ll run. It read on the little battery-window that it has a bit over 3 hours charge on it when I started just before 6 am. I’m going to keep my laptop unplugged and see how long it’ll last.
My laptop’s initial issue still reared it’s ugly head, but I turned off all my add-ons except the absolute necessary ones and that seems to have resolved the locking up slow sluggish issues for now.
I’ll be around to visit you all today. It’ll be good to get to blog for awhile again. PC issues are so disheartening and make me sad. But now, hopefully, I’ll be blogging happy again…

Appetising.
Thanks NF
Battery Update: Working online the battery lasted about 2 hours. That’s about the same amount as what the original battery that came with this laptop did. I’m happy with it.
It is tough to reconcile that all our work on our pictures is wasted on a good many monitors!
Hey Margie you’re so right.
It’s really somewhat disappointing to think about.
A powdered sugar drizzle!!! You’re killing me E.C.!
Glad you are good with your laptop.
We are still waiting on our mango for goodness sake. I think it’s almost there!
Ah yes Pix I so want to try this with a powdered sugar drizzle I think it would be delicious.
So far my laptop is doing well, so I’m keeping my proverbial fingers-crossed that the sluggishness is over with… at least for awhile.
Mangoes take a long time to ripen, but they’re sneaky about it and it’ll get ripe about the minute you give up on it ever ripening. lol
You don’t want to hear about my laptop battery and motherboard sad story a year ago last Christmas….
Fingers crossed for you!
Uh oh Pix sounds like a dreadful bummer for the holiday… also sounds like a blog post for you to share
Thanks for the finger crossing for me.
Computers issues can drive us to drink, uh, eat…good thing you ditched the monkey bread!
Bingo Margie
I do tend to snack more when I’m worrying with these frustrating machines. lol
You’ve tempted me! The farmer and I don’t eat all the good baked things we’d like to because of the sugar and waistlines.
Hey Charlotte
Oh yes, us too. The expanding waistlines keeps me from making many excess foodies everyday.
That monkeybread recipe has been bookmarked: FOR SURE it will find a place in the dinner menu rotation on days I cook for more than just myself! How simple and delicious it looks! (I have that exact bundt pan btw and use it even for quickbreads and regular cakes!)
Regarding PC issues….UGH UGH SUPER UGH!! I bit the bullet and bought a new laptop 2 weeks ago. I couldn’t spend more than 400.00 including tax, and found a very good Samsung via the Best Buy online deal of the day (379.00 total cost) Windows 8 is still confusing me, but otherwise it’s been a blessing in terms of efficiency and time management. Nothing is more irritating than a slow, unreliable machine!
Hey Shbg
The bundt pans are really neat to have because they’re so versatile and pretty too. I hope you all will like the monkey bread.
I’m sorry about your pc issues, but I’m tickled pink that you have a new pc. Congratulations. You got a dany of a deal on that Samsung. Well done. I haven’t dealt with W8 yet. I dread it when I have too, I hear it’s a real bugger. I hope you get the hang of it soon.
